The Rohde & Schwarz HZ540 is an EMI-Near Field Probe Set and the ideal toolkit for the investigation of RF electromagnetic fields. The HZ450 is indispensable for EMI pre-compliance testing during product development, prior to third party testing. The set includes 3 hand-held probes with built-in preamplifier covering the frequency range from <1MHz to approx. 3MHz.
The probes are used in conjunction with spectrum analysers, measurement receivers or oscilloscopes for qualitative recording of electromagnetic radiation. They are used mainly for the diagnosis of disturbances on printed circuit boards, integrated circuits, cables, leaks in shields and similar sources of stray radiation.
Signal feed is via a 1.2m SMA to N-connector cable. When used in conjunction with a spectrum analyser or a measuring receiver, the probes can be used to locate and qualify EMI sources, as well as evaluate EMC problems at the breadboard and prototype level. They enable the user to evaluate radiated fields and perform shield effectiveness comparisons. Mechanical screening performance and immunity tests on cables and components are easily performed.
The probes of the HZ540 include one magnetic field probe, one electric field probe, and a high impedance probe. All probe outputs are matched to the 50Ω inputs of spectrum analysers or RF-receivers.
