The new Gossen Metrawatt M520M PROFITEST MXTRA test instrument provides professional electricians with a state-of-the-art, universal measuring tool. The instrument is ideally suited for approvals and periodic testing of stationary electrical installations as it is capable of executing all measurements for testing safety measures in electrical systems as required by VDE 0100, part 600, and parts of VDE 0413. The PROFITEST MXTRA provides the user with the highest possible safety levels thanks to measuring category CAT IV. The M520P ensures that an installation complies with applicable regulations, and that it functions reliably. Test reports can be transferred to a PC and archived as a record of correct installation. In practice the device is extremely easy to operate and offers a wide variety of tests, focussing on electrical engineering tasks performed on a daily basis. In addition to basic standard tests, the instrument also offers functions for subjecting installations to a thorough test, which provides highly accurate results. Its wide range of functionality is supported by intelligent, ergonomic design, control is simple and safe, and data can be conveniently read from the large illuminated display. Tests and measurements can be performed with PROFITEST MXTRA test instruments on all alternating current and 3-phase systems with voltages of 65 to 500V and frequencies of 15.4 to 420Hz. In addition to the functions found in the MPRO instrument (54-7390) the MXTRA also tests AC/DC sensitive RCDs, type B and B+, IMDs and RCMs. It will measure loop impedance without tripping RCDs and can perform residual voltage tests and intelligent ramp tests with RCCBs. It also has a bi-directional Bluetooth interface.
The full range of tests and measurements the device can perfom is extensive and includes loop and line impedance measurement, testing of RCDs with / without tripping from 10mA to 500mA, measurement of insulation resistance with rated voltage, with variable or rising test voltage, low impedance measurement, earth resistance and site insulation measurement. Its universal mains connection system allows for international use. The MXTRA also operates as a versatile DMM and can measure AC/DC currerent up to 10A, AC/DC voltage up to 600V, resistance, conductance, capacitance, frequency up to 1MHz, duty cycle and temperature plus diode and continuity test modes. Supplied with 1 x earthing connector, 2/3-pole measuring adaptor, 2 x alligator clips, batteries, three phase AC current adaptor, shoulder/neck strap, PC software for report generation, power supply and manual.
