Château de Beaucastel rightly remains at the top of the pile in Châteaneuf du Pape. Over the past twenty years, others have caught up, but few, if any, have stolen their mantle. The vines have been grown organically since the Perrins bought the estate in the early 1950s, although the family have not eschewed modernity in their winery, embracing technology and new ideas to meet their loyal, world wide customers' expectations, and to stay ahead of the pack. With its slightly higher proportion of Mourvèdre, plus of course, Grenache, Syrah, Counoise, Cinsault, plus others, Château de Beaucastel retains its individuality and ability to age gracefully for up to twenty five years. Drink 2020 2030.
