Camouflage, 1987 is a museum quality art print featuring one of Andy Camouflage silkscreens. In the 1980’s Warhol produced a whole series of works inspired by camouflage patterns. He had his assistant go to the local New York army surplus store near Union Station to buy some camouflage fabric which was photographed and then used to make a variety of screens. Camouflage is used to disguise yet is so instantly recognisable by its pattern this probably appealed to Warhol and his love of Band’s and disguising himself. Warhol used bright pop colours at odds with the usual band colour of camouflage. Image Credit ©®TM The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc.
