Coke Lifesavers Jelly Beans By Kate Brinkworth

Internationally recognised brand Coca Cola have been purchasing her work through various auctions at Christies for many years and to celebrate 100 years of the Coke bottle design have organised a touring exhibition which compromises of some of Brinkworth’s works alongside the likes of Andy Warhol, Clive Baker and Norman Rockwell. In addition to this Quixotic Endeavours are making a film alongside Coca Cola which I am included in to be released in 2016 and Brinkworth has been interviewed and filmed painting for the film. This print as well as Brinkworth’s ‘Coke Stripey Straw’ are both taken from oil paintings on board which start with at least 6 layers of thoroughly sanded gesso to achieve a smooth white finish. The image is drawn up onto paper and once complete transferred onto the canvas a faint outline.
