Acclaimed contemporary artists Copyright and Gemma Compton have teamed up to create ‘Coming TogetherBroken Apart’, a stunning print, rich with depth, texture, colour and style. Each artist brings their own, distinctive aesthetic to bear on the piece, but the parallels between the two are striking Copyright’s colourful swallow soars across the red, Oriental style section, while Compton’s half of the heart, in cool blues and ice whites, depicts a death’s head hawkmoth beside her own, fluttering swallow. It’s a glass half empty type concept, as the shattered heart presents both splice and split, united by themes swallows, flowers, touches of gold while torn apart by stylistic rifts. The piece has been lovingly hand finished with gold leaf.
