Thoughtful Etienne Pochon is our touchstone for quality in the large northern Rhône appellation of Crozes Hermitage, which surrounds Hermitage proper. Generations of Pochons have occupied the cobblestone built medieval Château de Curson, but have only made their own wines, by eco friendly methods, since 1988. This fresh white Crozes is made from the Grenache Blanc grape, harvested in the cool of the evening to avoid oxidisation. It is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel to preserve freshness. The weight and texture of this wine makes it perfect with a plate of cold Suffolk ham.
