Storm Thorgerson is renowned in the music world for creating iconic cover art for rock and roll greats. From Pink Floyd to Paul McCartney, Thorgerson has been behind some of the most well known and well loved album artworks, shaping the aesthetic of the music industry since the late 1960s. This recent series of limited editions brings his images back to life as archival inkjet prints, each one in beautiful, never before seen, clarity. ‘Division Bell Metal Heads Pink Floyd’ features the original artwork from the 1994 Pink Floyd album ‘The Division Bell’. The image features two enormous metal head sculptures in profile, reminiscent of the famous Moai totems of Easter Island. Poignant and profound in its concept, the symmetry of the two heads creates a ghostly and illusionistic third, symbolising Syd and Roger, the absent members of the band.
