Bonnie and Clyde has mastered the art of mixed media collage, blending photography with fine art until the lines of distinction disappear. At first glance, her brightly coloured brushstrokes often depicting modernist architecture, expanses of sea, and palm tree lined streets are reminiscent of early Hockney. Closer inspection reveals the wealth of different techniques that Bonnie and Clyde has employed to unrivalled effect. ‘Everybodys Queen of Hearts’ was first released at the artrepublic Art Yard Sale on Sunday 5th June 2016, in which some of the biggest names in the contemporary art world came together in Brighton’s Jubilee Square, giving fans the chance to buy from the artists directly. ‘Everybodys Queen of Hearts’ showcases Bonnie and Clyde’s clever melding of photography with fine art. Depicting three figures, a car and a large palm tree, Bonnie and Clyde has splashed bold strokes of paint across photographic images to blur the lines between different mediums. Her keen eye for colour and composition allows the component parts to sit beautifully together, using the chaos of mash up technique to achieve striking visual harmony.
