Fall 1963 by Bridget Riley

Fall 1963 by Bridget Riley

These monochrome paintings strongly influenced fashion designers such as Ossie Clark and Mary Quant. In Fall a single perpendicular curve is repeated to create a field of varying optical frequencies. She said of the work I try to organise a field of energy which accumulates until it reaches maximum tension.
