FiiO AM3 Balanced AMP Module for X7 The AM3 is a replaceableupgraded balanced amplifier unit that you can use to change the sound quality of your FiiO X7. The balanced type AM3 is designed for use to drive balanced headphones. It has the 2.5mm TRRS balanced output for balanced headphones earbuds as well as the 3.5mm single ended output for more common use. The AM3 has utilized the newly launched amp OPA1622 from Ti which is exclusively aimed at audio products. The OPA1622 is the newest addition to the Ti Burr Brown Audio product line and is is an upgrade to the widely used OPA1612. In order to achieve full channel balanced output there are six OPA1622 chips installed which enables the module to support both 2.5mm TRRS balanced output and 3.5mm standard single end output with an ultra low THDN of 119.2dB 0.000018% while driving a 32 Ohm load at 10 mW output power 12 times better than the most similar competitive product. Replacing the modules is extremely easy simply using the Screwdriver that came with your X7 it is merely a matter of undoing 2 screws to remove the old module and replace it with the new module. Although protection circuits are installed on the X7 it is still recommended to perform the module exchange when the X7 is turned off. The FiiO AM3 unit comes in a metal protective box which will protect which ever amp you choose to store in there.
