Camberwell College of Art graduate and London based illustrator Chris Keegan creates screen prints of exceptional beauty and dynamism. For Keegan, the art of print is all about “mixing the old with the new” incorporating “the explosion of technology and gadgets of the last ten years” into painterly styles, to rejuvenate the tradition of the screen print. ‘Gap in the Forest’ showcases Keegan’s extraordinary ability to merge method and media for a truly refreshing take on the art of print. Inspired by the English countryside, ‘Gap in the Forest’ depicts a dense woodland scene, filled with trees, bushes, foliage, and deer, all awash with four shades of blue, for a nuanced pop art feel. The print is busy and bold, capturing the sublime beauty of nature through a mastery of artifice.
