Oxidation Painting, 1978 is a high quality art print based on a work by pop artist Andy Warhol. It features a quote for the artist ‘Art is what you can get away with’ his name the title of the series of paintings ‘the piss paintings’ and the years they were created 1977 1978. Warhol’s Oxidation or Piss paintings were created with canvases spread on the floor and painted with copper paint while the paint was still wet he would invite assistants or visitors to the factory studio to urinate on them. The uric acid would then oxidize the metal in the copper paint and create the final image. It was both a homage and parody of Jackson Pollocks abstract drip paintings.
