A compact zoom, this 14 42 mm is a great everyday lens, letting you shoot comfortably with high optical performance and minimal weight. A minimum focussing distance of just 20 cm and MEGA OIS which minimises hand shake when shooting longer exposures, mean that this standard zoom lens is a perfect all rounder for portraiture, street photography and architecture. The Micro Four Thirds mount also means that there are plenty of other optics in the Lumix range that will be compatible with the G7 so you can easily expand your photographic options with new lenses. Take control Use the G7 to get the images and footage you want with an intuitive menu and easy to access controls. The G7 lets you enjoy full manual control over all of your exposure settings so you can compose the images that you want with ease, adjusting shutter speed, white balance, ISO and aperture to creative effect. As well as the easy to navigate menus, the G7 gives you the choice to shoot using the 1040k vari angle touchscreen to position the camera at new and exciting angles that lend a new perspective to your photos, or a high speed OLED electronic viewfinder, making it easier to shoot accurately, even in bright conditions. Rapid response AF Shoot reactively with the G7 that benefits from a contrast AF system, meaning all of the light that passes through the lens can be used for autofocus detection. This gives you much better performance even in dimly lit environments whilst still maintaining the ability to autofocus on your subjects. Another new feature of the G7 is the Starlight AF which takes the same mechanics and applies it to much smaller AF zone which lets you shoot a star in the night sky with autofocus using accurate calculations of its contrast value, resulting in great night time photographs.
