Six Pills is a giclee signed limited edition of 75 originally produced to accompany contemporary artist Damien Hirst’s 2004 New York exhibition ‘The Elusive Truth’. A selection of oversize hand painted tablets sit on the reflective shelf of a glass backed medicine cabinet. Pills are a recurring theme in the work of Damien Hirst, shiny and inviting the pills reflect society’s reliance on chemicals to feel, and stay, alive, and while medicine helps to prolong life and prevent illness, it is ineffectual in holding off death completely.
