St. Joe Louis surrounded by Snakes, 1982 is a museum quality art print of an original work by graffiti artist Jean Michel Basquiat. Basquiat shows former boxing heavyweight world champion Joe Louis seated on an invisible stool and surrounded by ‘snakes’. Joe Louis was very generous with his money and was also taken advantage off so at the end of his life he struggled to make ends meet. Jean Michel Basquiat also felt exploited by the art world and dealers he was also said not to have a bank account and keep all his earnings in cash.
