After three years of trial and error, John Forrest mastered the art of achieving physiological ripeness early in his Sauvignon Blanc grapes. He was inspired by the ever increasing concern that people had for Marlborough Sauvignons with high levels of alcohol and was interested by the point that people want to have a glass of wine with lunch but still need to do an honest day's work. His love of innovation and experimentation were tested in his attempts to produce this lower alcohol Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from a careful selection of Sauvignon Blanc clones, vineyard sites and microclimates. We were so impressed with the results that we have worked with John to bring you this innovative wine, full of the distinctive flavours of Marlborough Sauvignon but with a pleasingling modest alcohol content.
