‘The Chickens Who Wanted To Be Flamingos’ is a superb piece from an ongoing series of digital collage artworks by Carl Moore titled Animals Pretending To Be Other Animals. Carl Moore says of the series “My main concern is with the merging of the ridiculous and the representational, the end result being to create a series of prints and paintings which communicate a degree of pathos and also appear unsettlingly odd, playful, quite tragic and endearing.” By covering themselves, and their stilts, in pink paint this group of chickens have attempted to expand their horizons by dressing up as the flamboyant flamingo. With black banana beaks and stretched necks they have almost achieved their goal, but we’re not sure we’re fooled by their fabulous get up.
