The Müenzenrieder estate lies in the Neusiedlersee Seewinkel National Park in the eastern reaches of Austria, near the market town of Apetlon. This is an area dotted with lakes, salt marshes and wide open plains. Through natural cultivation methods, rigorous sorting of fruit at harvest time and great care in the cellar, winegrowers Johann and Johannes Müenzenrieder produce wines which have real character, which is what caught our attention when we first tasted them. This is 100% Zweigelt, Austria's most important red grape variety. It features pronounced cherry and gingerbread flavours. Its juicy and fresh on the palate with defined tannins and good length.
