Benjamin Buckley finds inspiration in traditional Chinese and Japanese woodblock prints, reminiscent in the thick black lines he draws with. His works takes landscapes and partners them with stories, history and recent events. ‘Announcing Heinz’ is the sister piece to ‘Heinz Tower’ and explores the arrival of Heinz – a popular Western brand and its arrival in East Asia. Using a 1960’s Mae propaganda poster, redefining the Heinz logo but with a contrast in communist ideals and expanding capitalist markets. This piece is signed and numbered on the front.
