Danish artist Lene Bladbjerg creates prints of striking graphic quality. Crossing the line from graphic design to fine art, Bladbjerg’s work is infused with a gently haunting character, as bold type and strong composition dominate the frame. ‘Butt Out’ exploits Bladbjerg’s keen eye for typography the single word ‘but’, in lower case, cursive script is repeated across the print in alternating shades of black and charcoal grey. It’s both full and busy, while arrestingly minimal, and the final result is powerfully hypnotic.
