Rob Wass is an artist who understands the majesty of the natural world. His prints centre around landscapes, birds and butterflies, balancing exceptional colour palettes with soft texture and careful composition. ‘Crow’ depicts, quite simply, a large crow in flight. The print’s sheer simplicity is where its strength lies using lashings of black ink against swathes of metallic gold, Wass has created the sublime bird stark against a white background out of an experimental application of paint, simulating all the drama and vulnerability of a Rorschach test.
