This is a museum quality fine art print of Dance I by Henri Matisse that is held in MoMA New York. This work was a compositional study for two large decorative panels Matisse was commissioned to create for Russian merchant Sergei Shchukin in 1909. At the time the style and composition of this painting and the finished work was considered crude and shocking with the use of so few colours and radical visual flatness, but now they are seen as quintessential evocations of grace and movement. Matisse worked and painted very quickly creating this piece in less than a week.nbspClick these words to find similar printsFauvism Blue Green Cool Figurative Nudes Abstract
