Andy Warhol started drawing shoes as part of his career as a commercial artist in the 1950’s each shoe he drew meant money coming in. In the 1980’s he re visited the theme of shoes this time creating a series of silkscreens with women’s shoes in a variety of colours. The original silkscreens were then covered in diamond dust hence the name diamond dust shoes. On these prints you can see the speckled effect of the diamond dust.
