Hannah Adamaszek brings a fresh and thoughtful angle to the male dominated world of contemporary street art. An arena that many female artists shy away from, Adamaszek embraces the spray can aesthetic on her own terms, producing nuanced and abstract portraits of the feminine form. Opting for a softer palette, while maintaining all of the dynamism and energy of street art, Adamaszek’s prints are bold, haunting and heavy with expressive depth. ‘Distant Winters’ depicts a woman, her face obscured and her body shrouded. While elements of the image are defined, Adamaszek leaves much to the imagination, allowing drips of paint to run, leaving soft pencil lines exposed, and adding graphic shapes, for a beautiful blend of figurative and abstracted styles.
