Danny Augustine’s work often focuses on themes of identity and gender and how it is portrayed in society today – be it female, male, transgender or homosexual. His pieces play with a narrative with turns to hegemony if power and a carnival of vice. His style of working leaves the viewer with a sense of what could have been and with a sense of how those feelings have been distorted by gender politics and advertising.
