The work of contemporary artist TRXTR explores the darker side of human nature with powerfully seductive style. Using a mixed media approach, applying layer after layer of collage, photography and paint elements, TRXTR’s prints are mesmerising, thought provoking and poignant. ‘The Scapegoat After The Hunt’ depicts a dystopian landscape, filled with toxic waste, explosive mines and low flying bomber planes, hovering in the sky. In the foreground stands a long haired goat the titular ‘scapegoat’ alone in the destitute vista. Conceptually powerful, the print is a comment on man and machine, our relationship to nature and the bleak future that threatens to approach. Using a saturated palette of yellows and deep violets, TRXTR has captured a tone of dismal reserve, which is both compelling and beautiful. A truly powerful piece of contemporary art.
