The Tree of Life is an important symbol of life and vitality in nearly every culture. This museum quality print of Gustav Klimts 1909 painting beautifully depicts the trees spiralling branches, perched blackbirds, shrubs with butterflies, seedlings and flowers. Its complexity and boldness makes it appear remarkably contemporary. Interestingly, it is the only surviving example of a landscape in which Klimt used gold.
