Flowers, c.1964 4 yellow is a high quality open edition print of an original silkscreen by American pop artist Andy Warhol. Being square meant you could hang these flowers any way you wanted depending on what angle you liked. The original image for the flowers came from a photograph of seven hibiscus flowers taken by Patricia Caulfield in the magazine called Modern Photography. Warhol cropped this image to a perfect square and manipulating the flowers so they fitted. The use of someone else’s photograph in his work lead to a law suit and after this Warhol only used his own photographs in his work.
