Tannenwald I Fir Forest I was painted by Klimt in 1901 during his summer retreat in Litzlberg on Lake Attersee. The densely packed tress of the pine forest are captured with a neoimpressionistic and pointillistic style which also lends itself well to the representation of the small flowers on the forest floor.
