This is a beautiful giclee reproduction of one of a series of lithographs by Edward Ardizzone depicting London pubs first published in 1939. Barmaids Old and New reflects the differently qualities of service and attractiveness offered by different types of barmaid. Edward Ardizzone was an accomplished illustrator and writer. He was an official war artist during WWII but returned to book illustration after the war. Ardizzone loved the locals he frequented and did much of his creative thinking over a pint of good bitter. He could often be seen sketching on anything he had to hand, a bus ticket, a cigarette packet or a beer mat.nbspClick these words to find similar printsGiclee Figurative nbsp Rare British
