‘Dandy’ features a rather ‘dapper’ gentleman, dressed in a suit, long coat, cravat and top hat who Not Now Nancy has given her contemporary and dream like feel to placing him in a giant Top Hat with feathered wings and a bow in his hands, the arrows to the right of him. The gorgeous hand finishing can be found in the wings with the words ‘the dandy’ and the pair of Arrows on the floor. Not Now Nancy’s works explore the relation between fragility of nature and outmoded times and the brutality of urban living and combines illustration and modern iconic imagery. ‘Dandy’ pairs perfectly with another of Not Now Nancy’s Limited Edition works ‘Stripper’.
