Richard Berner says of this piece 'George the Giraffe' is a play on cartoonist James Gillray's interpretation of the Prince Regent. 'A Voluptuary Under The Horrors of Digestion' The two images are very similar, with the giraffes neck and torso on the body of the Prince Regent, holding a small giraffe wrapped in a bright red ribbon, with the head of the Prince. This is a wonderfully surreal and humorous print, which was illustrated for the cover of the magazine Viva Brighton.
