Camberwell College of Art graduate and London based illustrator Chris Keegan creates screen prints of exceptional beauty and dynamism. For Keegan, the art of print is all about “mixing the old with the new” incorporating “the explosion of technology and gadgets of the last ten years” into painterly styles to rejuvenate the tradition of the screen print. ‘Golden Sunlight’ showcases Keegan’s extraordinary ability to merge method and media for a truly refreshing take on the art of print. Inspired by summer sun in the English countryside, ’Golden Sunlight’ beautifully captures the glimpses of low, golden light that flash through dense woodland at early dawn. Keegan has used a metallic gold for the sky, layered behind spindly, leaf laden trees of lilac grey and deep maroon. The palette is truly striking and Keegan has perfectly captured the sublime beauty of nature through a mastery of artifice.
