Elizabeth Taylor is one of many celebrities captured in Andy Warhol’s iconic pop art style. Warhol used a publicity photograph for her film ‘Butterfly 8’ as the basis for this particular screenprint. The use of the same image in a variety of colourways started with Marilyn Monroe in 1962, by the 1980’s people were paying to have their portrait done in this style by Warhol.
