Made from the Tinta de Toro variety which is the regional name for the principal grape of Spain, Tempranillo. From old vines that survived the phylloxera pest, planted far apart in a rugged setting with low production figures. Following a classical vinification, with destemmed, crushed grapes, that have undergone a painstaking selection process. Highly controlled fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks, followed by a long ageing period of twenty two months in French and American oak barrels allows us to obtain a naturally stabilized wine and avoid any kind of fining and heavy filtration. Aged for twelve months in French oak barrels and then time in the bottle, long enough to allow the wine to fully develop. Aromas of ripe fruit with smoky and spicy notes from very fine oak. Powerful and elegant with engaging length and depth of flavour.
