Situated in north western Spain, the Rueda region sits on a level with the top of Portugal. It lies within the provine of Castille Leon and takes its name from the town around which most of the vineyards are situated. The region has a long history of vine growing but it is not untill the mid eighteenth century, when the big Rioja firm of Marques de Riscal takes an interest, that production takes off. This wine is made by yet another invader from Rioja, Bodegas Riojanas. Pale yellow with green hues very clean and bright. Intense nose with aromas of fruit, white blossoms and fennel. Well balanced, round, tasty and fresh in the mouth, with a pleasant, bite on the finish.
