Illustrator and comic book artist Simone Lia has spent the summer drawing worms, “This summer for me has been all about worms, not just because of the rainy weather and frequent sightings of the humble wiggler but they have become my artistic muse.”nbspShe likes how worms are “literally down to earth”, however, in this joyful print she imagines what a worm fountain might look like, with the amoebic shaped creatures squirting out of the ground. It’s a comical and light hearted piece but with Simone Lia’s characteristic philosophical depth, “We don’t think much about the worm but they do so much good, they have an important job of aerating the soil and they do this in a hidden way. It’s these anthropomorphic counter cultural qualities that attract me – maybe we need to be more like the humble worm to oppose a culture that celebrates and endorses celebrity, egotism and power.”‘Worm Fountain ‘ is a 2 colour screen print on Heritage paper. It is from a very limited edition of just 24 and each print has been hand signed and numbered by Simone Lia.Click these words to find similar printsSilk Screen Prints Limited Edition Animal Contemporary Art Illustration nbspBuy Art, Pay Later nbsp nbsp nbspnbsp
