Take the picturesque route CD14 from Aix en Provence to St Puy Reparade some 14km away and you will run into the Palladian style Château La Coste set in its 150 hectares of rolling Provençal countryside. We were led here by winemaking genius Mathieu Cosse of Cahors who has taken over the winemaking here. Everything is biodynamic and the resulting wines are a delight. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 45%, Syrah 25%, Grenache 30%, this is the estate's top red selected from parcels of vines more than 40 years old. Hand picked and sorted on the vines and in the cellar. Aged in oak barrels for 18 months this is a wine of substance.
