In the artists' own words...The Flood feels like the beginning of a new chapter in my work I wanted to simplify things, create more space. This piece is about the power of nature the wind, the sea. I just think there's something so magnificent about these animals, I wanted to bring them into an extreme environment. I love there to be metaphors and messages in my work some people may look at this piece and see a comment about environmentalism, others might notice the nod to Hockney I included the swimming pool, or maybe they'll take away the idea that life is an uphill struggle, you have to keep on going nature will carry on.
